Lisa Ozaeta

Lisa Ozaeta, DrPH, JD, MBA is an assistant professor at the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy and an adjunct assistant professor at The Dartmouth Institute of Health Policy and Clinical Practice. Dr. Ozaeta teaches courses in health finance, strategy, health information technology and innovation. Her research interests include shared decision making, innovation, and physician/hospital relationships. In addition to teaching full time, Dr. Ozaeta is an attorney and consultant with more than 25 years of senior executive healthcare experience.

Dr. Ozaeta holds a DrPH from UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, a MBA from Yale School of Management, and a JD from OCU School of Law.

Dr. Ozaeta’s current research focuses on increasing patient and family engagement in primary care through better communication and shared decision making.  Dr. Ozaeta co-leads the medicolegal research team of Open Recordings.  Open Recordings is a research group out of The Dartmouth Institute of Health Policy and Clinical Practice that focuses on understanding how routine audio recordings of patient visits can increase patient and family involvement in healthcare, help patients remember important health information from their health visit, and help patients and family better manage health.  For more information, see www.OpenRecordings.org.
